First impressions count. Black girl went straight to talk to my husband when the order was mine, didn't even ask. The alien eyebrow blonde with injected lips looks down at you. The guy just stays kinda quiet. Now fot the food. The samplet platter, pay attention. They have 2 menu pictures. Take a look at the black and white one! Cause the color one says the sampler has crawfish in the sampler platter and doesn't and is $39.99. The new sampler doesn't have the crawfish and is like $3 more. The crab in the sampler was burnt, the catfish was good. The gator bites as well. Hushpuppies passed. Why is the shrimp so hard? Like not the batter but the shrimp itself. Fries some where a bit undercooked, tasted like freezer and under seasoned. Now the fish tacos. The fish in them have too much seasoning, all I tasted was salt. I had to get a drink to eat anything else. I couldn't eat them, left them to my husband, he didn't either so waste of money, unedible. We got kids plates with popcorn chicken. Was only enough for our toddler. The older ones (8&11) where left hungry, they tasted the fish tacos and said too much salt. They love seafood and that disappointed them. For the sides, the red beans are ok, coleslaw my husband ate so idk. The gumbo tasted like actual Mexican frijoles chorros which was kinda weird but the taste was great since I've never actually had gumbo. Overall wouldn't go there just cause the people up front have no proper training in customer service.
Stopped by on our way to Rockport. Being a Sunday right around the time church was getting out the place was packed thus service was slow and it took nearly an hour to get our food. Can’t really blame them for that. Once we got it was nice and hot and very tasty! Large portions too. Loved the ducks and turtles outside then a quick stop at the candy shop next door.
We dine out alot.
From Whataburger to high end fine dining. My wife is a coconut shrimp connoisseur and Pinchers is the best she has ever had. The blackened Mahi-Mahi was thick yet cooked even and perfectly.
The Gator Bites are unmatched.
Our server Myles is young but don't let that fool you he is an absolute pro. You can tell the staff here love their work and they all are excellent at what they do. Got a sweet tooth? They got a candy store too. The Coi/Turtle/Duck pond is great for the kids Ooh's and Ahh's.
Don't miss this gem y'all!!!
I got half of Po boy with alligator and the cup of crawfish etouffee and fries. My wife got the boil pot with shrimp and crawfish and corn and sausage. We also got the alligator bites for an appetizer. It was all good. Maddie did a great job as a waitress and took good care of us. Country rustic setting in a very friendly atmosphere.
We stopped for a midday break on a long drive to the coast and were glad we did. All the dishes were excellent and well presented. The service polite and friendly. The grilled shrimp lunch nicely seasoned, the fried frog's legs tender and tasty and the fried catfish good too.
First time here on a very busy Saturday evening. Even so, staff was reasonably attentive and super courteous. After a tasty appetizer of Fried Mushrooms, I ordered the Red Fish blackened while my date had the Fish and Chips. Both were hot upon serving and delicious. Also, bathrooms were clean although the trash needed to dumped. Other than that, it's a nice place, especially with duck pond out front. I recommend checking this one out.
Wow! Hidden Gem!! Best seafood I’ve had in a long time!! The coconut shrimp were fried to perfection, large and meaty. One the build your own combo platter we got 6 of them and a ton of Popcorn shrimp. The hush puppies are a great balance of the texture and spice. The coleslaw is fresh and well seasoned. Not a mayo bath like most. The popcorn shrimp is wonderful and crispy, served piping hot. The onion rings are out of this world. The fun and unique side dish star are the cheesy Crawfish Mashed potatoes!! However, Starting off, we had the fried mozzarella cheese curds. Great texture, however being fried in the same oils with the fried seafood products, the cheeses took on notes of the fish/shrimp. The marinara would have been better if served warm.
The salads and other dishes being brought out to other tables looked amazing.
All in all, a great dinner at great and normal prices that don’t break the bank.
Will definitely be back!!
Great environment and added bonus candy store next door! Even when the answer was No from the wait staff, they checked first and delivered it pleasantly + offered substitution for said item unavailable. Outside is fun with fish, turtles, ducks, and planks to observe/feed from. Large swing chairs and picnic tables. Fun, funky, place! We fed a family of 4 + beer for $43. Can't beat that! Will visit again on our way to Lost Lagoon.
